Working With Barry

Whether you're an individual seeking insurance guidance or an agent aspiring to enhance your offering, working with Barry promises a partnership marked by expertise, transparency, and a shared vision for success. Here's a guide to ensuring a fruitful collaboration:

About Barry

Barry Wirt, Jr. is not just an insurance expert; he’s an entrepreneur, philanthropist, and a dedicated family man from Roanoke, Virginia. With a career spanning nearly two decades, Barry has been at the forefront of the insurance industry, offering his vast expertise in product sales and design.

Beginnings

His journey into the world of insurance began with the teachings of his father, a highly successful agent in the field. After graduating from the University of Virginia in 2007, Barry quickly climbed the ranks of the insurance brokerage world, holding positions such as the Mid-Atlantic Brokerage Director for Advanced Planning Services, a highly successful advanced sales agency. By 2009, he served as the COO of Underwriting Services of America (USA-BGA), guiding its transformation into an influential IMO with over 40 firms nationwide, many of whom he personally recruited.

Current

Currently, as the President of both Premier Life Strategies and Wirt Consulting, Barry collaborates with high-producing agents to cater to the needs of high-income/high-net-worth business owners and their families. His leadership emphasizes case design, client engagement, advanced sales strategies, and persistent improvements in client service.

Philanthropy

Beyond his professional life, Barry’s heart lies in philanthropy. He was the primary fundraiser for the Don and Barbara Smith Children’s Museum (named for his grandparents), known as Kids Square. Kids Square attracts upwards of 50,000 visitors a year to their children’s museum. Additionally, he has been a longtime board member for the Western Virginia Foundation for the Arts and Sciences, known as Center in the Square.

Other Interests

Outside the boardroom, Barry enjoys golf, reading, and working on his web development companies, Wirt Digital and EmazingSites. He cherishes his role as a husband and father, and his family, along with their two dogs, makes their home in Roanoke, VA.
